Lock Up
1989年影片《Lock Up》原声。 by Jason Ankeny While the 1989 prison thriller Lock Up reunited star Sylvester Stallone with composer Bill Conti, few vestiges of their Rocky-era glories remained. The soundtrack is as banal and tedious as the film itself, manufacturing drama from overbaked arrangements and aggressive yet flimsy melodies. Part of the problem is the dated production -- the gelatinous synths and sludgy electronic rhythms are an unfortunate byproduct of their times -- but by no means does Conti deserve a free pass: themes like "Time's Up" and "Hold Your Fire" are as trite and predictable as their titles portend. It's a mystery why Intrada would choose to resurrect Lock Up as a special edition when so many superior soundtracks remain unissued in any format.
