Black Grass Plague

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you had a great holiday. To celebrate the new year, John 5 has released the video for his new ‘John 5 and The Creatures’ track, “Black Grass Plague“. The track is also available from all good stockists of digital music download sale distributors. The video, directed by Coffin Case founder, and long-time John 5 collaborator, Jonny Coffin, received its new year premiere at GuitarPlayer.com and GuitarWorld.com. Guitar World call the track “country-metal thunder”. Speaking about the song, John 5 says; “This one of my favorite songs I’ve tracked recently. It’s got electric mandolin, banjo, and a ton of guitar on it, and the main guitar, bass, and drum parts were tracked entirely live, so I think it has a great feel to it. I think it’s the perfect mixture of heavy rock and crazy country.” And talking about th video production, John explains; “We filmed it in a warehouse right next to Jonny’s place. It was swelteringly hot in there that day, but we got through it, and if anything, the heat contributed to the energy in the video. The star-shaped stage with all the neon lights is actually Elton John’s piano riser,” continues 5. “It turns out you can rent it. Who knew? Thank you, Elton!”
