Hands In The Air
Muzikman Edition and Kenny Summit, two New Jersey natives greatly influenced by the rich 80s/90s house and hiphop scene that Jersey is so famous for. Growing up listening to the world's greatest DJs playing at fabled clubs like Zanzibar, Club 88 and the Abyss had quite the impact on these two... being raised in Jersey ment enjoying the rich history that house music has on the state going back to the late days of disco. Kenny Summit states "House Music is what was played at all the park parties, roller rinks and cookouts, it's what we heard at school dances, it was a blend of R&B, reggae, hiphop, soul and jazz, alot of Philly Soul type stuff mixed nicely with breaks and just about anything that had a nice groove, no boundaries, no limits, thats just the way DJing was back then. The up tempo jams were more fitting for the dancefloor while the slower cuts were savored for those 'couples only' moments that made those gatherings so special. And we had dances for specific songs, the percolator, running man, cabbage patch, butterfly, the worm, there were new dances every year, and of course vogue culture was always present. Those experiences add to the energy we bring to our productions today, it's what makes New Jersey producers sound so unique."
