With a sound built around energetic indie rock mixed with a soulful Southern influence, not unlike early Maroon 5, Arkells made a splash in 2007 with their blazing single "Oh, the Boss Is Coming!" from their debut EP, Deadlines, and a year later Jackson Square continued in the same vein.
