Heading South...of the Border
by Tony Wilds "Mrs. Robinson" makes an awful samba. "Light My Fire," however, makes a slightly better cha cha cha. What is there to say about an album of very un-Latin pop covers? What worked only moderately in "Hair" Goes Latin does not necessarily extend to "United We Stand." Ros and London are applying late-1960s technology to a very old-hat way with Latin-American music. And on Heading South, no amount of bongos and recording channels can tilt the balance sufficiently from American to Latin.
