Hailed as one of the most controversial rappers in the game, Sacramento s X-Raided has long prided himself on that title. By releasing over 18 albums in 22 years, X-Raided has provided consistent hardcore rap to its rabid fan base. What makes it even more amazing is that the majority of those albums were recorded (with perfect studio quality) while X-Raided has been in prison. Psychoactive 2 , hitting stores on April 29th is no different. The first X-Raided album, Psycho Active , was recorded in June 1990 with Sacramento rapper Brotha Lynch Hung, and released in 1992. In March 1992 gang members raided the home of Patricia Harris and she was fatally shot. Brown (p/k/a X-Raided) and four other gang members were arrested for the murder. Months after his second solo release titled Xorcist , X-Raided was convicted of first degree murder and gang related homicide and was sentenced to 31 years in prison. By recording surreptitiously while in prison, X was album to continuously release music. With a prison guards helping him access the necessary equipment, X s albums have maintained perfect quality as postproduction is completed at a top-tiered studio. When asked about these recording, Jerry Smith, Community Resources Manager at Salinas State Prison stated, it s a mystery how such vocal sessions could take place. Inmates are not allowed to have tape recorders. Psychoactive 2 is the sequel to his classic first album and will certainly be welcomed with open arms from his legion of fans.
