After months of a long and tedious wait, indie band Standing Egg has finally unleashed their second mini-album, “Lucky“! “Lucky” contains five brand new tracks, including a lovely acoustic cover of “Just The Way You Are” by Bruno Mars. If you’re a sucker for acoustic melodies and soothing voices, then this album is absolutely perfect for you! On April 1st, acoustic indie band Standing Egg released their collaboration theme song for the 2011 Sky Expo, “Fly“! Known for their soothing, easy-going songs, Standing Egg took on a new challenge this time by going for a light rock beat to fit the expo’s theme of “Spring, blue sky, let’s fly!” “Fly” holds a message of hope and encouragement to the youth who have given up their dreams, and asks them to “draw their dreams once more high up in the sky.” Befitting of its message, the song features a bright and refreshing feel. They commented, “This isn’t just a theme song, but a song under our name as well. We wanted to set it apart from the other logo/theme songs by making sure that the song still held the color of Standing Egg, but is simple enough to be memorable.” Having just released their second digital single, “Fly“, a month ago, Standing Egg has returned with another single, “Ache“, featuring the talented female vocalist, Windy. Standing Egg has been on a roll this year with the diversity of genres they’ve been pursuing. This time, they’ve created an easy-listening track with a sound reminiscent of the Carpenters that fits well with the crisp and clear voice of Windy. Inspired by the light breeze of Spring, Standing Egg has released a new single with female vocalist windy called ”He Loves Me.” Keeping in line with their characteristic acoustic and easy-listening feel, the team has come up with a romantic folk number that’s a lot lighter compared to their earlier release, “Ache“. The song is a sweet expression of a woman’s feelings, documenting specifically the excitement she goes through as she receives a love confession from her crush. The song features sweet lyrics like, “He says he loves me, he says he’ll protect me. He says I’m the only for him and that I’m the only one he cares for because a world without me is meaningless to him. Can someone please pinch me or wake me from this dream?”
