Since childhood, the art of music was very appealing to him but very uncommon in his family. The lack of support from them deviated his education to other areas and made it impossible to dream about a career in the music industry. After being criticized by many people, he decided to keep learning and never give up. This was just the beginning, as he knew that hard work will make his dream come true. There have been many positive outcomes in this journey, but people always criticized his work saying: "It's not mainstream enough". Once in College, Omar Montes was able to learn various techniques of Music Composition, Guitar, Piano and gained experience on how to work many aspects of a Recording Studio. After a while, he was able to express the sounds created in his head. The inspiration came from many of his childhood favorite artists. But most importantly, the messages within the paintings of Salvador Dali and Alex Grey changed his life forever, taking his perspective of art to a different level. Omar Montes has played in many other bands in the past, always trying to enjoy the different ways of how people listen, write and perceive music. But the meaning or purpose of every composition he wrote never concurred with the rest of the band members and led him to pursue a "Solo" project; this was the birth of Music Montes Records (MMR). Omar Montes believes that music should come from the inspiration of the artist and give an elevating experience to the listener (expanding minds); never with the intention of manipulating any composition in order to be more popular and sell more albums; keeping the true essence of the artist. In every recording released, he plays all the instruments, composes, writes lyrics, and works all aspects of the music studio production. Basically, everything that you hear it is made by only by him. No mixing or mastering engineers were hired in this long process. Today, he has obtained a Certificate of Performance in Music Technology from San Diego Mesa College and completed the B.A. and M.B.A. program in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from National University (San Diego).
