Yosaku got into hip hop at the age of 9 age from the local radio stations. He was always into video game music and soundtracks (film scores) from movies and a lot of soul (marvin gaye/stevie wonder etc). Trying to emulate the late night dj's mixing hip hop, began to make pause-mix tapes when he was around 11. Used two tape decks to play and one to record. Around that time he also heard "Midnight Marauders" being played in it's entirety on the late night radio, it blew his mind! A couple years later he got his first turntables and started dj'ing. Got heavily into the skratch dj scene around 95-96, and independant hip hop from the "wake up show". Fat Beats on the weekend so he could buy what he heard on the show. Met some people in the Skratch PIkzl chat room such as Aser, Shiro/DJ Ragz/T-Dawg (Muzik Fiendz), and got invited to join their crew. At the same time he was also exposed to Jungle, a friend took him to a the Roni Size "New Forms/Reprazent" tour when he was 13. That experience opened him up to the whole dance music scene. Eventually started to produce in 2001 (Fruity Loops + Sound Forge) and re-linked up with Aser (he's from Toronto and is also friends with Moonstarr). Aser got him into the whole house/nu-jazz/broken beats/brazilian/latin thing. Yosaku have been Dj'ing for over 10 years since he was about 12. He currently have a monthly residency at Zanzibar in Santa Monica. Also recently played at DEEP in the soul lounge, it's really big house night here in LA.
