Straight Outta (80's) Cleveland: Best of the Generators
Straight Outta (80’s) Cleveland - Best of the Generators Well, it's finally happened - the 'album' that almost never was, is! It just goes to show you can't keep a good band down. Thanks to digital technology and a lot of patience, we have compiled the best, most kick ass performances in one package, Straight Outta (80’s) Cleveland - Best of the Generators has arrived! We listened to voluminous archives and pulled the tracks representative of our most popular songs and put them together for you the listener to enjoy in all their digitally remastered glory. So we have studio recordings, live shows and phantom songs (we don't know where they came from!) all wrapped up in one bad mutha! Of course none of this would have been possible without the advent of digital technology! We gratefully acknowledge the good folks at Analog to Digital in Oakland, California for processing some of the material and to Neon Don Buchanan for processing some more, Mark Addison for mastering these crazy recordings, and finally to Jimmy Lee for arranging and packaging them into one cohesive whole - team effort folks! Special shout out to to our good friends Darren Folk who convinced us that a younger generation of "true music fans" might appreciate this stuff, and Askold Buk for his crash course in digital music distribution. About the Generators An early eighties rockin’ working person’s band, the Generators were a fixture on Northeast Ohio's thriving club scene, playing everywhere from underground punk/new wave dives to showcase clubs like The Cleveland Agora. They headlined shows throughout the Midwest and opened for numerous national recording acts as well. The Generators are - Mark Addison, Stutz Bearcat, Neon Don Buchanan, Eva Dilcue, Jimmy Lee and Artie Peeler. All of our disparate musical interests, influences and personalities came together in that out of control energy vortex known as the Generators. We could make you move all night! The air was electrically charged; electricity was a physical manifestation at our shows, and another member of the band! But most importantly we would like to acknowledge and thank the other members of our band, our fans! To all our friends and fans who supported us steadfastly throughout our time together, we would like to say Thank You! Without you there would have been no fuel for the fire in that crazy energy exchange called live music. What an exciting time both musically and personally for us to have been lucky enough to contribute and participate in that intense arena of music gone wild. The whole scene was truly temporarily out of control! This collection of songs is a testament and present to all those who played in that field with us - we couldn’t have done it without you. Rock on!
