Bernard Stanley Bilk, better known as "Mr. Acker Bilk" (1929-2014) was for sure one of the most outstanding personalities in the British Jazz History, well known for his breathy, vibrato-rich, lower-register clarinet style, and distinctive appearance – of goatee, bowler hat and striped waistcoat. In 2005 the "British Grandmaster of the Clarinet" was awarded the BBC Jazz Awards' "Gold Award".
