Be My Thrill

曾经 The Weepies 给人带来的那种舒缓细腻深情的感觉又油然而生，生活中的点滴都可以浮现眼前，那么美好。之后的几首歌“When you Go away”，“Red Red Rose”，“I Was Made For Sunny Days”，“ Be My Thrill”等节奏轻快悠扬，越听越舒服。令人惊喜的是一首“How Do You Get High?”具有摇滚风格，与往常的曲风很不同。新专辑更不乏 The Weepies 最拿手的清新民谣风格的歌“They're In Love, Where Am I?”，“Hummingbird”，“Be My Honeypie”，“Be My Honeypie”等，节奏简单但不单调，属于百听不厌的好歌。 Deb Talan and Steve Tannen released their first album together seven years ago (2003′s Happiness), so it’s only natural for one to wonder if they can still deliver the “subtly intoxicating folk-pop” that fans of The Weepies have come to expect over the years. The answer to that question is yes, unequivocally – they have completely nailed it with Be My Thrill. Be My Thrill is full of the type of songs that The Weepies are known for; hopeful, happy, a little bit dreamy, fairly rocking, and always the perfect showcase for their signature harmonies. It plays out like a love story at its most organic; the emotion and narrative here will be recognizable by anyone who listens. Talan and Tannen spent a year with the songs, starting with a robust 70 and experimenting until the final 14 emerged as the record, with brilliant results; this is their most accessible project yet. My favorite songs on Be My Thrill are the rocking “How Do You Get High,” the sweet and low “Not A Lullaby,” the earnest, “Empty Your Hands,” and of course the title track, a clever, bouncy confirmation that if my life were a movie, The Weepies would write the soundtrack.
