Ojalá Que Llueva Café
by Janet Rosen Where Arieto surprised with its ambition, both in its political content and in its lyrical romanticism, this release retreats to a predictable and pleasant competency. The rhythm and horn sections percolate along, keeping everything upbeat, and the leader's voice sounds confident. Why otherwise sane record producers periodically decide to use childrens' choruses remains a mystery. The title song would have been the epitome of well-crafted Latin pop without this lapse toward the end.
