Flirt

The single releases were well chosen, resulting in Top Ten R&B hits in the title track and "Hold on to What You've Got." But the rest is mainly disposable and fails to live up to the standards set by earlier albums. The title cut is slightly catchy, but its insipid arrangement and overall sterility are tiring, while tracks like "Stop It" and "You Can Turn Me On" are finished before they start. King possesses a fiery, soulful voice that deserves far better material, and the fact that she can't seem to rise above the empty cliches here suggests that she was not into the songs on Flirt either.
