In this album, the All-American Band, directed by Robert A. Williams, steps ‘Front And Center’ to present a band concert that offers a variety of musical sounds for lovers of band music... something for everyone. Karl L King, one of the most active American bandmasters and composers, provides two bright musical dedications... one to the United Nations, the other to the Valiant Youth of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H Clubs and similar organizations. In a comparable vein is Happy Lads, capturing the cheerfulness and good humor of the young at heart. Those who favor martial tones and rhythms will enjoy the thrilling Cavalry Of The Clouds, or the rousing and vivacious Ceremonial, offering many varied instrumental band effects, including a trio clarinet strain. Additional diversity is advanced by the dizzy velocity of the gallop, Blue Streak, a direct opposite to the sensual tempo of Tango De Amor. Fantasia is a novelty band interpretation that actually is a humorous adaptation of that Italian favorite, “Funiculi, Finicula.” To add further to their laurels, the band includes the charming Allegretto from 'Symphony No. 5' of Dimitri Shostakovich.
