Orunjj Sky
For Stranjjur's third EP, we've drafed yet another young Italian stalwart to provide the soundscape. After enjoying some early success on quality labels such as Plastic City and Acker; MAIKI joins the fold to present his latest EP which is aptly titled the "Orunjj Sky EP". Warmth is certainly the key-word that best describes "Orunjj Sky EP" as a whole. Leading the way is 'Orange Sky'; a juicy slice of house music that nurtures and warms the soul like a bowl of fresh chicken soup on a bitter-cold February evening. With subtle undertones of Italo-disco and lush, mid-range bass layered a top a feverishly sexy groove.. "Orange Sky" works it's way into the core and refuses to let go. So it's no wonder that Mazi (aka Audio Soul Project); didn't miss the memo, as he provides a sun-soaked 'Dub mix' that utilizes the warm lead keys from the original, and accentuates the tropical vibe by adding a dangerously addictive vocal and some juicy analog bass. The B-side sees Maiki taking aim directly at the dancefloor, with the groove-laden workout that is "Evidence". Several bass lines interweave, as Maiki puts on a masterclass in the art of sound layering. Mobilee's go-to Polish wizard Marcin Czubala gets a hold of the main hook and bass line and wobbles it all up into a breath-taking, bone-shaking rendition that is sure to destroy many dance floors this winter.
