4 Way
Having selflessly shifted focus over the last few months from his own flourishing production career towards his rapidly emerging imprint Crown Jules, Enfield grime protégé J Beatz has snapped up the chance to demonstrate his sharp skills for recognizing, nurturing and promoting fresh and like- minded UK talent. After over six years of ascension through the underground ranks that have seen him collaborate with the likes of Kano, Big H and Devlin, J shares his unquestionable wealth of high-octane wisdom by kicking off what's sure to be a blistering 2014 with the upfront and uncompromising 4-Way EP. Taking on remix duties to open the much-hyped EP himself, J sets up its sound in unsubtle style with a punishing rework of Jammer's classic instrumental ‘Feedback’. Playing with the mad claps, orchestra hits and empty space that defined the original, the result is a relentless bass haymaker that could both kill a rave and guide lost freighters through heavy fog. Not for the fainthearted. Powering on with the rough and ready tip, the rest of the 4-Way EP consists of original cuts from a trio of hardworking beatsmiths who pull no punches - LJ goes in on percussion with the slick and calculated snare ambush ‘Prototype’, Jammy Beatz keeps 'em guessing with the bass and topline switches on quickstepper ‘Bussin At Em’, while Dullah Beatz breaks out the horns for a tongue in cheek trap rinseout on ‘Uppercut’. All four riddems represent serious ammunition for club or radio DJs looking to liven up their listeners, and all are especially generous to MCs looking for a chance to rain fire. The 4-Way EP is available from 21st February 2014 from all good digital outlets. For more information please contact crownjulesmusic@gmail.com
