Roy Cape: A Calypso and Soca Anthology

Roy Cape is best known as Trinidad & Tobago's finest saxophone player and leader of the Roy Cape All Stars. For half a century this iconic musician is a leading figure in the music scene of his Caribbean homeland. Furthermore he is a walking encyclopedia of music history in Trinidad and Tobago and recounts this in a new book called Roy Cape: A Life on The Calypso and Soca Bandstand. The album at hand complements the book and takes the listener on a very enjoyable musical journey, from Calypso instrumentals from the 1960s to sweeping Soca songs from the 2013 Carnival season.
