Reach For You

Andy Compton feat: Rowan is a very special project. Over the years Peng Records has forged a strong relationship with South Africa. We have watched as the Deep House scene has grown, with African artists developing their own sound. Call it Afro Deep or Ancestral, a whole new crop of young underground producers have come onto the scene with some amazing talent. These young men have contacted us and really impressed us with their commitment and deepness, many times creating their sound under harsh conditions. We at Peng felt it was our duty to share with the rest of the world some of this “talent”. We hand picked some of the very best underground Afro-Deep producers to showcase their own remixes for our Andy Compton feat: Rowan – Reach For You song ‘Reach For You’ sung by the incredible, Rowan, whom we have been working with for over 16 years! We are sure you will as “blown-away” as we were when you hear what these guys have done with this song. First is the original mix which has a real “Larry Heard” classic Deep House sound, then The Invaders give you a taste of where they are coming from with their excellent (Invaders SAMC 2010 Mix), which is reference to the South African Music Conference this year! Next comes Sbonza’s (Sbonza Spiritual Mix). This man is on a serious deeper than deep mission, watch out for this one! Next is Dj Bullet’s (Dj Bullet’s Mix) who takes you on a real African journey into deepness. After that comes the Luka’s (Lukas Jazzdup Mix) which features Andy Compton on guitar and Charlie Hernshaw on sax. This mix is unbelievable and takes the package to a whole new level! Last is the (Strictly Acid Jam) which is completely different to all the other styles on the e.p. This e.p is just a taste of the great sounds that are coming out of South Africa right now.
