Growing Up
Andrew Fearn returns to Neo Ouija with his new album ‘Growing Up’ under his Infant moniker. The components are furnished with a lush aquatic tone that fits in with the braindance aesthetic perfectly, finding some new diversions along the way. ‘Asiate’ is first up, a nice grinding bassline leads off with a modulated beat and warm melodies punctuated throughout. ‘B.S.H.M’ starts off with an industrial tinge but develops into a moving vocal piece, finding itself located somewhere between the early 80’s baladeering of Soft Cell and the up-to-date dissections of Alder and Elius. ‘Pring’ hits the mark beautifully, a delicate semi hip-hopoid piece, a scattering of nice noises burning it into movement.
