Future Music
4lux is proud to present 4lux White. A label dedicated to soulful beats, hip hop and leftfield electronica. First up we have a release by two talents from the States: Daru & Reggie B. Daru is a hip hop producer from Michigan who makes beats as raw as Madlib and as dope as Japans DJ Mitsu the beats. Daru is drummer for Slum Village and Dwele and has produced for the likes of Tableek (Maspyke), Ab (Slum Village), Nathaniel Roberts, VaNatta (Mute), etc. No doubt that this mans take on hip hop is an interesting one! Reggie B. is a singer/songwriter from California who did collabs with Saadiq and Wajeed of the Platinum Pied Pipers. Now they join forces and come with their awesome debut album for 4lux Recordings called Future Music to be released December the 3rd 2007. To give you a little taste of this soul-drenched album, we bring you this album sampler packed with heavy tracks and exclusive bonus material. The title track Future Music is a deep and infectious soul groover which mixes soulful vocals with warm Fender Rhodes and clever production. This is a banger for sure! The bonus instrumental is included too. Next up is I was wrong a stupendous heavy Daru beat carries Reggies vocals to full effect. Good Love is based upon chopped up hip hop beats and powerful song writing. This song is a good example of todays nu-ground soul and hip hop. The bonus instrumental of this trinket is included too. On B1 we present Its not a game, a dope production with occasional vocal snippets which will appeal to all the beatheads out there. Last but not least theres the free-spirited Stay Free with amazing backing vocals by Jeff Byrd. This is hip hop, meets soul, meets gospel at its best! Saadiq of the Platinum Pied Pipers: Right up my alley! Slum Village: Heavy stuff!
