Fury Records was founded by Bobby Robinson, who Variety magazine saluted in their obituary as the ‘independent label entrepreneur whose career spanned the worlds of Fifties R&B and first-generation rap.’ He was certainly a man who made things happen, with the likes of Wilbert Harrison, Gladys Knight and the Kodaks, this compilation of 50 tracks from the Fury vaults is a fitting testament to him.
