Good Rockin' Tonight: The Old Town Records Story 1952-1962
Compared with other independent labels Old Town Records was never a major player. In the course of thirteen years it may have only placed six songs in the Billboard Top 40, but our compilation is proof that quality in music is not always measured by its popularity with the record-buying public. In addition to highly regarded doowop acts such as the Five Crowns and the Valentines there are also several blues artists, none more famous than Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, proving there is quality aplenty.
