The Singles Collection 1960-1962

'The Godfather of Ska' and 'High Priest of Reggae' are just two of the lofty titles bestowed upon Laurel Aitken by fans and critics. High praise indeed, but the admiration and acclaim is well deserved. He was Jamaica's first musical star, before the mighty Bob Marley arrived on the scene, making his name in both his homeland and in the UK and helping move ska and reggae into the musical mainstream. He died in 2005, age 78, but his timeless music lives on.
