One of the finest folk singers of her generation, Barbara Dane has worked and toured with all the top artists in her field, including Pete Seeger, Kid Ory, George Lewis and Memphis Slim. Her folk singing has a strong sense of commitment and she is also a more than convincing blues singer. Featured here are two of her original albums in their entirety; "Anthology Of American Folk Music" and "Livin' With The Blues", both from the late 50s. Dane's decision to ally her singing to political causes stirred up controversy and kept her music from the general audience, which makes this release even more important.
