Incredible Jazz Guitar

On a technical level Wes brought a style famous for block chords and octaves played with the thumb, taking a different approach from masters Lang, Christian and Kessel, on a musical level he brought so much more to the landscape of Jazz guitar. These three albums ('Incredible Jazz Guitar', 'Movin' Along' and 'So Much Guitar!') represent his finest recordings over an eighteen month period for Riverside after his stints with Lionel Hampton and his orchestra and before he became a little less in favour with Jazz aficionados and a little more so with the easy listening crowd.
