ANTONIN DVORAK:SYMPHONY NO.9 December 16,1893,was a memorable day for the Carnegie Hall. With standing ovations Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No.9"Form the new World",playe by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra ,was welcome at its premiere.In a fascinating way,Dvorak blended in this opus elements of Negro and Indian music into Slovakian song and dancing elements,thus setting into music his impressions he had gained during his stay in the U.S. The audience was frantic with enthousiasm,the euphory of the critics without limits.The composer was seen as the creator of national American art music which was received expectantly and with fascination.This last symphony gave immortality to Dvorak.
