Delilah is an Italian born singer, songwriter and musician. She started writing her songs when she was a teenager, thinking about her future: "I just want to sing". “I have always felt I was different”. She says. “Music has only been my only interest, the only thing that makes me feel alive". She started studying piano when she was a child, she then learned to play the guitar and she would spend her childhood and teenage years just singing. In her room, in her own world. "My world is something people mostly don’t understand or maybe just don't know of. I don’t like the things people usually like, and this has been a problem throughout my entire life. When you feel you are deeply different, in some way you’re scared to be “the wrong one”, and you need a lot of strength and courage to be true to yourself and be what you’re supposed to be". This first album is a way to get her pain out. To find her real emotional world. It comes after a really hard time, after a deep breath, after a long fight with herself to be what she really is. A scream for freedom. But also a celebration of her own life. Of Love. And a dedication to someone who is not here anymore. "She's All Around" is the first single. “But music always brings you to the right place”. She has travelled around the world, living in different cities and making several different experiences with musicians from different nationalities and playing and singing in many different settings that made her the person she is now. Her creative process is different every time. Sometimes, she dreams of a new melody in the middle of the night, she just wakes up and records on her mobile phone, to work on it later; sometimes she just grabs one of her guitars or sits at the piano and starts playing until she gets the song from the inside. “Every song is something inside me, and I can feel it moving, busting, screaming, because it needs to get out, to live. What I want is to share my emotions. And music is my way to do it”. To put together the arrangements, she has a precious help: her friend Stephen “Step” Solini, a great bass player who can read her mind, and transform every single note and melody she creates into music. A very talented musician and lutist who has been her musical partner for a long time. She lives in the US, where she’s working on her music; but she’s planning to coming back to Europe to promote her songs, whilst keeping her links with the East Coast, where she has found great collaborators and friends to work with.
