Roughshod

Originally released as a b-side to Rennie's much celebrated underground anthem, "Devil's Water", the song "Roughshod" was mostly over-looked at the time of it's release. A slowly evolving, emotive gem, the song represents a light at the end of a long tunnel. The feeling is comforting and joyful as it slowly peels away it's layers, to reveal a centre of glowing sound to the elated dancer and listener. The remix by Chicago stalwart, Angel Alanis, is profound, merging his well known technical production skill with an unusually deep and emotional building of cascading melody and a truly moving arrangement. A masterpiece of contrast and subtlety.
