Flashing Lights EP
Previously the Swedish have led the Scandavian tech dance revolution but it's time to make way for the Norwegians! Straight out of Oslo, Norway Rampus delivers a his debut EP on Axis Trax and it's a 4-tracker with great class. A wicked collection with some interesting twists to get the floor moving and shaking! Enjoy! The Axis Trax Team x RAMPUS - A SHORT BIOG. Rampus started dj'ing in 1981, and was one of the pioneers of beatmixing in Norway at the time. His greatest inspiration was listening to Tony Prince's show on Radio Luxemburg. Heavily influenced by 80's funk, boogie and disco, such as D-Train, Toney Lee, Unique, Chic, Paul Hardcastle and pretty much anything that came out on the highly regarded Prelude label. This led to him doing remixes and "megamixes" using an 8-track recorder and reel 2 reel tape machines and working as a DJ and club owner throughout the 80's until "a real job" took over. He had originally planned to return to DJ'ing a couple of years ago, but got bitten harder by the production bug and is now working on a variety of new projects and remixes for various labels.
