All that Jazz, Vol. 134: Hans Koller & Friends
Hans Koller - The Sax Player who founded the Hot Club of Vienna in his native country Austria only a few months after the end of World War 2 - he is a true European jazz legend. The ministry for education, arts and culture of his home country created the Hans Koller Award in 1996, which is today the highest award for jazz musicians in Austria. Koller was a path maker for the various forms of modern jazz: Cool Jazz, Be Bop and Free Jazz. He worked with other jazz legends like Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Chet Baker, Oscar Pettiford and Kenny Clarke. Hans Koller and his ensembles - again, as it is a good custom of our collection - in two different recording situations: in Studio and on Stage, a thrilling experience for all lovers of modern jazz. Enjoy!
