Machine
In celebration of the 10th release from Crossing Over Records, Australian producer and label boss Jason Grey presents the 'Machine' EP. This four-track release features Jason's new sounds as well as remixes by some of dance music's brightest: Katsarov, Mid Wooder and Swartz & Schulner. Techno meets progressive meets tech trance on the original mix with a bass heavy, mechanical, production-line feel. The track builds up into an explosive dub step climax with a roaring bassline and genre-smashing groove. 'Machine' marks a significant point in the Jason Grey trajectory with its distinctive, futuristic style - sure to appeal to fans of the label and to those who are new to the sound. Bulgarian producer Katsarov brings a driving tech trance rendition of 'Machine' with a gritty, underground style. Piecing together sound effects and complex synth work, Katsarov takes the synth stabs and vocal samples of the original track and builds them up into an electrifying big room sound. Rising French star Mid Wooder turns 'Machine' upside down with his quirky electro house remix. Heavy on the funk, the track plays with a Halloween vibe, reinterpreting the vocal samples and percussion of the original in a whimsical style that is kitschy, playful and deep. Dutch production duo Swartz & Schulner have already shown what they're capable of with a string of releases on labels around the world. On the 'Machine' EP they produce an upbeat tech trance piece with a driving bassline and fierce break beat, taking the bare essentials of the original and repackaging them with a minimalist twist.
