The Dark Spirit

Russian producer and label favourite Maximus Bellini returns to Crossing Over with his latest release. The Dark Spirit busts out with a throbbing bassline and groove-ridden percussion, setting the mood for Maximuss atmospheric techno sound. The ambient breakdown erupts into a dark, melodic drop that carries the track home. Having featured on some of the worlds biggest labels, including Sony Music, Armada and Definitive, Andrea Bertolini joins the Crossing Over family with his Dark Spirit remix. Snippets of the originals main riff are underpinned by an energetic bassline and syncopated percussion. The second stanzas riser synth floats over deeper tones, creating a peak time progressive tune. US producer Doc Brown is well and truly a welcome addition to the COR imprint. His techno-tinged, progressive-inspired music has seen him land releases on labels such as Toolroom, Natura Viva and Baroque. Docs remix of The Dark Spirit maintains an edgy funk feel with a filtered bassline, complemented by atmospheric sweeps and big room synth sounds. COR boss Jason Grey brings his unique hybrid sound to the EPs final remix. Infusing techno and progressive beats together with heavy bass grooves and a layered melodic riff, Jason digs into his producers toolkit to create a brand new sound.
