Lead Me On
Soupbone is a five piece blues band hailing from Williams Lake, BC, Canada. First cooked up in 2009, Soupbone’s recipe for a good time is strongly rooted in the blues and Motown. They have stirred together their many influences and their love of live performance to create a unique sound, an original show and an eclectic repertoire of original and cover material that offers up something sweet and savoury for every pallet. Inspired by artists such as Albert and Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles and the Allman Brothers, Soupbone consists of Dean Fulton, Joel Gyselink, Garry ‘Blind Dog Guido’ Grosso, Shane Boxeur and Brandon Fauteux. As of December, 2010 the band will be supporting the release of their debut album “LEAD ME ON” on Chilli Dog Records. Dean Fulton blends lead vocals, keyboards and harmonica as he fronts Soupbone’s steaming pot of blues with his big, loud soulful voice and a love of entertaining that continues to grow after more than twenty years on stage. Joel Gyselink, Soupbone’s unstoppable lead guitarist has been heard all across western Canada starting in the late 1980’s in Winnipeg with ‘Beg To Differ’. Joel spent the next two decades mixing his musical ingredients and continues to ladle out one piping hot riff after another. Shane Boxeur, on bass guitar, feeds every Soupbone audience a steady diet of low-frequency soul food-the heartbeat of this band. He delivers a smooth, infectious groove that only a thirty year veteran could cook up. Garry Grosso is Soupbone’s rhythm guitarist and resident blues aficionado whose musical taste comes from his deep-seeded love of the Chicago blues tradition. ‘Blind Dog Guido’ and his dedication to these roots are a huge influence on Soupbone’s hearty flavour. One might say Garry wrote the cook-book on the blues. Brandon Fauteux (pronounced photo) is the least-aged ingredient in the Soupbone pot but his prowess and success as a drummer belie his years. Most recently a member of recording artists KOOKSHOW, Brandon has been a working musician since age 13. His tasty rhythms and understated flair are sure to please the musical taste buds of any audience.
