FLATBU$H ¥EN (Explicit)
AK THE SAVIOR from The Underachievers and Japanese rapper Leon Fanourakis present collaboration EP "FLATBU$H ¥EN" This project started in the summer of 2019 when Leon and AK first met in Tokyo, Japan. It was easy for them to make songs together since Leon was a big fan of The Underachievers from when he was a teenager, and although AK wasn't familiar with Japanese rap, he knew of Leon through his friends, felt his vibes and understood that Leon had something special in his skills. The lyrics from their lead song "PICCOLO" includes character names and many words from Japanese anime "Dragon Ball" which shows AK's love towards Japanese anime culture. In "LIGHT WORK" and "KONNICHIWA," you can hear AK to challenge rapping in Japanese. Leon's unique Japanese fast rapping technique is also a must listen. The producers of this EP include a Japanese upcoming track maker based in Los Angeles, Yung Xansei, who produced the first 6 tracks on the EP, and a famous producer from Spain, Cookin' Soul for "NISSAN", as well as NV, who is also known for producing tracks for Joey Bada$$, Wu-tang Clan, etc. for the last song titled "YOKOHAMA 2 FLATBUSH." FLATBU$H ¥EN must be the very first hip hop project that overcomes language barrier between US and Japan. FLATBU$H ¥EN includes total of 8 tracks, some trap style and some good boom-bap style. This global collaboration has a potential to connect the US and Japanese hip hop at a deeper level.
