Passion & Grace
Born in London, Janet Marlow is the fifth generation of noted Russian musicians. Classically trained, she studied for fifteen years with Maestro Andres Segovia, Julian Bream, and Leo Brouwer. Marlow then became the protégé of Maestro Narciso Yepes, the innovator of the ten-string guitar. Moving from an all classical repertoire into jazz was a natural process for Janet Marlow. This evolution began in New York where she was influenced by jazz legends Bill Evans and Joe Pass Spending time with great players in the midst of the New York City jazz scene led to her creating original compositions for ten-string guitar with Quartet and arrangements with jazz singing. Janet Marlow is approaching her place in the world of contemporary music with a fresh flare.
