Constellating

Nestled in the heart of Oakland are the two electronic magicians, who build music behind the knobs, switches, levers, and patch cords of the duo James & Evander. Adam Myatt and Glenn Jackson (neither of which is named James or Evander) began crafting electro sounds in the latter’s apartment while attending an art school of sorts. Since then, the pair’s sound has evolved far beyond its instrumental indietronica roots and now takes form as subdued, lush synth-pop voyages complete with sparkling melodies and melancholy vocals. Citing influences as disparate as Dntel-style techno, blissful chillwave, and contemporary pop, at this point James & Evander’s productions are truly a hybrid of their ideas. After releasing a slew of instrumental vinyl and locally released ep's, J & E headed up the natural progression to add vocals, and this is what brings us to Constellating. It's only 3 tracks accompanied by 2 remixes, but the potential is clear ! These are catchy as all get out pop songs. The band is currently recording songs for their debut which will be out early next year and plans to spend some time out on the road this Fall. We hope you are as excited about them as we are.
