Call Ih Name

'Call Ih Name' is another production of one of Belize's prominentand and consistent musicians, Reckless. This album is comprised of eleven songs. Four of the songs on this album, 'Andy P Gone', 'Running Back', 'Migiranba', and 'Time To Rise' are Paranda. Paranda is one of the musical forms of the Garifuna people that has a slow pulsating beat. This art form can be heard all across Belize and in many Garifuna and Belizean communities. The song 'Running Back' which is a favorite of many and have topped the charts in Belize is about a love relationship that has gone awry. The remaining seven songs - 'Joe Di Wrong Police', 'Ah Sorry Ah Married', 'Call Ih Name', 'Boularuga', 'Motivataz', 'Teul' and 'Fight Fi Di Wrong Thing' are Punta Rock. This genre of music has dominated the dance scene in many Belizean circles. Punta emerged in the early 1980s when Pen Cayetano added the electric guitar to Punta. This musical forms has morphed and reinvented itself over the years. Garifuna Kids, Punta Rebels, Lova Boy, Supa G, Aziatic and Lloyd Augustine are few of the musicians who have been dominant in this genre of music. These songs speaks to many of the issues that many people face in the lives on a daily basis. This is album is one that, no doubt, will let you have a part of Belize in your musical collection.
