Don't Call Me Y.T. Knnga
This Ep CD Is my Effort to confront the Demons of Racism on both sides of the issue . I've been called the N word many times in my youth. Yes there were times in my when I blasted back a slur or two . Being born and raised in Montclair New Jersey I had the Unique oportunity to go to school with many whites . I was treated basically very well especially by musicians . Those who didn't like me , didn't say much if anything to me ., so all i heard was the Music during my school years. Television Brought the world into our living rooms in Black & White and then Color . I saw the assasinations of JFK , RFK , and Martin Luther King . The Newark Riots were right down the road. I saw South Orange Ave. and Watts Burn On TV . I was physically chased and Harrassed in many white Towns and told to stay on my side of the tracks. I saw white kids be tossed off the bridge into Tony's Brook during the height of the Black Power & Panther movements. and sadly I witnessed My own Son Hunter jr. be roughed up at a local Restaurant and Country Club where I was appearing , just because he danced with a white woman. I've Never and will never lay my hands on anyone or Say anything negative to anyone because they're different from me. I won't stand for that from anyone in my pr esence. Just Treat and Do Unto others as you would want them to do to YOU !!! A simple rule to live by. Ireally like to have the Love of God for All my fellow Man . . . . . Peace and Love Hunter P. Hayes of Nj.
