The Colors of the Merchant Star

Taking inspiration from the likes of The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper, Queen's A Night At The Opera, Genesis' Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, and the Kinks' Village Green Preservation Society, Poland continues in the tradition of creating progressive pop music with a strong emphasis on song-writing, involved arrangements and subtle orchestration. "Reminiscent of a night at a creepy carnival, the decidedly 60s feel of Seattle-based Poland is both melodic and discordant. The seven-piece outfit feels very “indie-pop”, but the addition of a string section and some obvious Queen, ELO, and Beatles influences push it up and over the top."
