R&B, funk, soul artist Nik West has already established herself as one of the most sought after female bassists in the world. The former runway model adorns herself in a colorful mohawk shaped like a bass clef and clothing that seems to have come from space, which easily causes everyone who sees her to pay close attention. Her debut album “Just In The Nik of Time” received rave reviews and continues to be a top Urban R&B seller on CD baby and Amazon. While performing a song from her album called Forbidden Fruit, funk bassist Bootsy Collins took notice and coined Nik West as the next new-generation funk icon. After her appearances on the TV show Glee in 2013, she followed up with recording her new project, which includes the vocally intense single "YOU", which is composed completely live by a strings section and collective of musicians, Mother's Favorite Child. She has collaborated and/or shared musical space with Prince, John Mayer, Steven Tyler, Sugarland, Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, CeCe Peniston, and many more. “I just wanted to sing something that was bottled up inside. As I recorded the second verse to "YOU", I cried the whole way through it, so I wanted to redo it, but my producer Paris Toon said, 'No way, I felt that true emotion'. So we kept it as it was.” -Nik West “Holy FUNKADELIC, I love her energy!” -Steven Tyler “Nik West is one 21st century artist that isn't lacking in the chops department.”- Alex Henderson, Billboard “Prince meets Erykah Badu...with a funky bass line” -Seattle Times
