EP
Mother/Father has created an extremely unique style through their own interpretation of post-punk/new wave, while adding a twist of 60’s bluesy soul, a hint of 70’s psychedelic rock and splash of 80’s club dance. They then salt their style with a nuance of 90’s alternative-grunge. It’s kind of like having Smashing Pumpkins-meets-Pink Floyd, in a jam session with The Smiths-meets-New Order, all with Sam Cooke on vocals. All this swirls into an atmospheric dark-pop sound, which provokes chills down your spine. Their live show has a tendency to intoxicate you with a euphoric hysteria. If it has been a while since music has moved you, give Mother/Father a listen. It’s quite possible that they will completely take you away -- like music used to. The EP was produced by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, Tom Waits)
