Hustle Hall of Fame
The struggle, the fight, the pain, the endless day's, and sleepless nights shaped him to be what he is today. He carved a path in his destiny so he could become the right hand of god lyrically. A lyrically blessed individual that refused to be restrained to poverty by societies shackles, Cypher unleashed his wrath upon the world at a very young age. The artist Cypher who later became MAV to honor his fallen confidant (VER R.I.P) ripped through the lyrical scene and took the game hostage, the ransom is high and the bar was set. MAV of Sol Camp was born in October in the windy city of Chicago to a Laredo born mother and a father born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. MAV was raised in a single mother household, his parents divorced at age 5. His childhood wasn’t typical to that of other children. It was full of battles and struggles both inter and intrapersonal. As a young child MAV became acquainted with the “struggle” concept. During his childhood he witnessed things most people won’t ever witness in their lifetime. His mother was homeless after the divorce and after months of struggling he was sent to live with his Grandparents for two years just a few months after seeing his first murder at the tender age of four in the cold streets of Chicago. All the adversity he faced through the years did not discourage him from reaching his dream. MAV came to many crossroads; chose the wrong path at times but he made it all work to his advantage and never walked the same road twice. Theft, drugs, violence, and music; MAV was a young competitor in many areas of life. As a young contender in the Chicago area MAV was making big moves in the local scene. He has a record on and off the streets. MAV was a young hustler in the making, a shot caller on the rise. MAV's rise to fame wasn't an easy road to success, he slipped, he fell, he struggled to get where he's at today. With the spirit of a fighter and the wisdom of a hustler MAV was able to become an entrepreneur not only paving the way for him self but also kicking down the door for other local artists to strive. Thus the beginning of an Urban Media Buzz was created. His credibility is flawless, his rapport unsurpassable. In 2000 he moved to Arizona to try to start his own life after he was kicked out of his home in Chicago. It was in Arizona that he first started to record music. In 2003 he started to work on his first album "Micadvancement" and has not looked back since. He release that album in 2005 and took the state by storm. It was that album that got all the attention from several local artists and he was approached to join a Latino hip hop super group called "Sol Camp". He Decided that it would be better to unite and hit the city hard and that they did. Within in year they became the new face of Arziona hip hop an toured from California, to Chicago and everywhere in between. Since then was able to start several of his own tours and even perform with artists such as Spice one, Nipsey hussle, Capadonna, Block mcloud, Immortal techinque, RBL Posse,Hopsin,Wiz kalifa, Pitbull,Chingo Bling,Zig zag, Mc magic, Kid Frost,B Real,Ludacris,Slick rick,Wu tang clan,Talib Kweli,DMX ,Lucky Luciano, Twisted insane, Andre Nickatina, Bone thugs, Willy Northpole, Malverde, Dj kane of the Kumbia Kings, Paul wall, Baby Bash, Brown boy, Down aka kilo, Joell Ortiz,Too short,Digital underground, Dj class, Shorty lo, Doll e girl, Flakiss,The pack, Lil B, Chiddy Bang, Brittanya, Big caz, Mack 10, Kurtis blow, Devin the dude, Tash of the Liqs, Knockturnal, Krs one ,Lil Whyte, Omar Cruz, Flava Flav, and many more. Sol Camp did their thing selling well over 40k mixtapes in the streets, and swap meets state to state. In 2008 a few of the Sol Camp members decided to quit the game after several internal battles with the group. After that Mav was stuck at a standstill and wanted to quit music also. Something inside made him decide to keep pushing and that is when he started recording his solo material again. Between 2008 and 2010 he released 5 mixtapes and hit the streets hard. He did a documentary on Phoenix hip hop that was showcased on MTV and MTV2, and was even featured on the news for his contribution to the AZ hip hop scene. MAV even decided to get in the local rap battles on Power 92 and was the Freestyle Battle champ 9 times consecutively and has been considered Arizona’s 1 Latin rapper by Xpoz Magazine, Phoenixhiphop.net, and the streets. It was in 2010 that he released his 2nd album "Independent Hustlin". This album featured such artists as Chingo Bling, Juice, Ying Yang Twins, Lucky Luciano, LMNO and more. The album featured his biggest singles to date with "Til the sunrise" "Fly as us" "Me against the world" and more. With this album he won Best album for "Independent hustlin" at the SWUMA awards, best album on Phoenixhiphop.net, Top 20 independent albums 2010 in college times, several other awards, and most recently won Best Southwest Latin artist at Henry G hot103 awards in Las Cruces, NM for 2011. This unprecedented lyricist known as MAV has brought his own twist to the game. He raps about issues that are relevant to Arizona with a hunger and passion that has not been heard before. His undeniable talent is felt and heard on every bar he spits. Mix tape to album and everything in-between. His talent does not only include rapping, he is a writer, a great father, a promoter, and an entrepreneur. He owns over 10 hip hop sites, Has his own local TV show(AZ weekly rap up), runs a label "Es Oh El Musik", and is and overall Hustlers Hustler. MAV should be considered a threat. He is passionate, he has dedication, he is humble, and he has the recipe for success. With various projects in the works he has no time for play. The time he spent in the struggle made him realize it’s all about the hustle. After the success of his album Mav decided to try something new, He recently recorded a whole mixtape live in a 15 hour session on ustream then put it out for free download just to show the world how hard he works at his craft. He also just dropped his mixtape "In my zone" which is the first CD/DVD combo to come out of Arizona. The dvd contains 19 of his best recent collaborations and 11 music videos from songs off of the "In my Zone" mixtape. As of March 19th 2013 Mav will be releasing his 3rd album "Hustle hall of fame" and plans to go ever harder and spread it even further than any of his past releases.
