Stephanie Brigitte Krawiec, known by her stage name Stephanie K, is an American singer-songwriter and recording artist. Born and raised in the Detroit area, she has been performing on stages across the country since a very early age as both a singer and musical theater actress. She has earned a stellar reputation in the Detroit music community and around the globe for her creative lyricism, edgy style and powerful vocals. While attending the University of Michigan on an academic scholarship after graduating from high school, Stephanie K was introduced to esteemed world famous, 4-time Grammy Award winning producer Michael J. Powell (best known for his work with Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Tyrese, Pattie LaBelle). Their chemistry was immediately palpable, and the duo began an unprecedented partnership in combining the best elements of pop, rock, soul and funk. Says Powell, "Stephanie K is one of the most prolific and talented songwriters I have ever worked with. Combined with her stellar vocal abilities, she is truly a one-of-a-kind talent." Stephanie K and Michael Powell are currently hard at work on the national release of her first studio album. Songs like "Twisted" and "Trouble" introduce us to Stephanie's bold, outlandish and wild side. Multi-platinum hip-hop producer Detail (Drake, Akon, Lil Wayne), a former protégé of Powell's, collaborated on the song “Crazy Crazy” adding yet another layer of diversity to Stephanie's incredibly unique musical style. Earlly Mac (of the Big Sean camp), Finally Famous, Grammy nominated producer Young R.J. and T 3 of Slum Village collaborated on the song “Twisted” to add another spin on this hometown girl. Although she has earned the credibility in the Pop/Hip Hop community, Stephanie K says she "Wants her music to appeal to the masses." In her music videos, Stephanie is sexy, dynamic and always in control. She embodies the confident beauty that every guy wants but won't "bring home to mom", as it seems she is always riding the thin-line between quirkiness and utter insanity. Along with her band, The Detroit Katz, Stephanie K has graced the stages of countless venues and national festivals, including the famed Whisky a Go-Go, House of Blues and the Palace of Auburn Hills.
