Blood & Joy

Panther & The Supafly forges together a musical band of brothers, infusing modern hip-hop sensibilities with world music and synth-jazz tones. The band draws its influences from acts like The Roots, Robert Glasper, Q-Tip and many classic hip-hop artists and producers. Led by rapper/singer/songwriter/beat-maker Panther, and backed by powerhouse collective of genre-bending musicians known as The Supafly, Panther & The Supafly spent the previous two years perfecting and honing their live show to take on the road and display for a wider audience. After creating a solid base of excited music fans in British Columbia, they hit the studio to produce their debut EP Nkazi, to solid reviews from several music writers in Canada. Panther’s debut solo album, Blood & Joy, is a fully electronic album featuring beats by Panther and members of the Supafly. While putting the finishing touches on that album, the band is back in the studio with producer Alex “Condor” Aligizakis to start work on their first full-length album, due out in 2013. Their unique brand of West Coast Hip Hop, Jazz and Rap presentation fuses together to produce bouncing, electrifying live performances that have made them a solid ticket in their home city of Vancouver.
