Tales of Love & Loss + Rise Up!

Tales of Love & Loss + Rise Up!

From the depths of despair can come the greatest of triumphs. This is strongly evidenced in the stunningly beautiful new double album from South Australia-based band, The BordererS. Tales of Love and Loss/Rise Up is the band’s ninth album, which took a full year in the making. It is dedicated to the memory of Jim and Alex’s son, Rowan, who took his own life in January 2010. Rise Up is a collection of tunes that showcase the high-energy performances The BordererS are renowned for, while Tales of Love and Loss is a more sedate collection of ballads with reflective lyrics. The first single release, Love Them While You Can, gives a small indication of what’s in store on this brilliant new release. The song went down a treat when The BordererS performed it live before an audience of 30,000 at the Adelaide Carols by Candlelight in December and for Australia's Prime Minister on 28th Dec 2011. It’s been a real balancing act for The BordererS, finding time to record their new album and fitting in a highly successful European tour, among regular festival appearances across Australia. Following their performance in 2011 at Europe’s premier country music event, the Mirande Festival in the south of France, they were invited back for a three-month tour in 2012, sponsored by Dreamwest Magazine. From July to September 2012, the band will tour extensively throughout Europe, performing at all the major country music festivals. To kick off the new year they will appear at the 40th annual Tamworth Country Music Festival, presenting two big concerts – at the famous Longyard Hotel on Tuesday, January 24, and in the arena of the Courthouse Hotel on Wednesday, January 25, in the heart of Country Music Capital. After Tamworth, The BordererS will embark on a major Australian tour showcasing their new release and appearing on morning TV and radio shows across the country. In other exciting news, The BordererS have just signed a deal with US company Sugo Music, which is helping to get their music played and sold worldwide, including in China. Irish singing star Louise Morrissey has recorded a version of one of The BordererS’ song, My Father’s Love, on her latest CD. From the band’s formation in 1994, they have gone on to sell more than 70,000 CDs and DVDs and have justifiably earned the reputation as one of the most energetic, entertaining bands on the Australian music scene today. www.theborderers.com.au www.sonicbids.com/theborderers2
