This is Pat Moran
Jazz pianist, Pat Moran recorded this cd with the late Scot La Faro , considered to be the greatest jazz bassist ever, in New York City, 1958. In 1960 Scot remarked he didn't like any of his recordings, except maybe the one he recorded with Pat Moran. Pat and Scot played together in Chicago and the Hickory House in New York City. They met each other in St. Louis when Scot was playing with Chet Baker. Later that summer, they met again when Pat was playing at Birdland in New York City. They started playing together and eventually recorded this album. Most bassists will agree Scot was one of the greatest innovators of our time. It was my pleasure to have known him and had the wonderful pleasure of playing music with him. The original album recorded on Audio Fidelity was one of the first to be recorded in stereo, if not the very first. Pat moran
