When asked what kind of music she plays, Josee answers with: what kind of music does Sheryl Crow play? It's hard to answer because it's a mix of many different genres like folk, country, pop and blues yet her sound is unmistakably hers. Sultry vocals swimming melodically between warm and bluesy tones, Josee Allard Live features "new" songs that have been performed over the last two years but never recorded and released until now. Among them, the soulful and soaring "Falcon", where her guitar is played as a drum and string instrument at the same time. The second track is all about easy listening & feel good vibes with a title to match: "Love is all we need". Following is the highly requested at shows you can't help but tap your feet to this next upbeat country tune, "Feet On The Ground". Josee ends the set with a bright, medium up-tempo song on the ukulele that talks about loving and protecting our children. "Come over here and I'll keep you warm, put your arms around me let's run from the storm. I will be your shelter, I will be your body guard you from the danger, heartbreak and the fever. Come over here and I'll keep you warm". On top of the great songwriting and awesome live sound, lots of funny moments and personal little intros make for a very pleasant and uplifting musical experience. Everyone that has worked on this project knows Josee pretty well so there is a very natural flow from the music to the delivery. The CD was recorded live at the Chateaugay Town Hall Theater in NY. 1.
