On the Streets Of
Tone & Niche (tone & neesh), is an original pop/rock band based out of Michigan fronted by singer/songwriter, Anthony Retka and violinist, Nicole Varga. The back up varies when it comes to other musicians, but drummer, Roger Dutcher is a driving force in the line up. For ten years now, Tone & Niche’s eclectic mix of violin-led pop/rock and singer/songwriter styles have become a musical force in the Detroit music scene. The band has shared the bill with several national recording artists including: Martha Wainwright, Mike Errico, and Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. T&N has released three studio albums, a live double CD, two singles and two EPs. Anthony Retka has also released his own solo full-length albums. These recordings emit creative song structure, lyrical depth and polished performance. In addition to everything else, T&N’s song So Long, from the 2007 record Rust, was recently featured on the Discovery Channel’s Dr. G: Medical Examiner. "...while they're adept enough to play just about anything - they are rock 'n' roll singer-songwriters." -Eve Doster, METRO TIMES - Detroit, MI.
