The Walker Brothers were inspired by their deceased brother Kenneth Walker (1951 –1976). His death carried a strong impact, as well as, an inspiration to fulfill the dream of success, which he sought as a former member of Zola Taylor’s Platters. Reginald “Reggie” Walker began singing as a youth in the school choir. As a senior in high school, God began to cultivate greater gifts of talent within him and afforded him the opportunity to become a member of the All City Choir. Within the All City Choir, he performed at the Cleveland Public Auditorium accompanied by the Cleveland Orchestra. During the concert, Reggie was inspired by the conductor’s ability to generate electrifying performances, encouraging him to develop as an artist in writing, producing, and performing. Reggie was and remains a natural born leader; he began to audition other students and formed his own singing group. Following high school, he produced and recorded his first single, “Love Attack”, which ranked at #1 on the Billboard charts and was nominated for an award on the Urban Music Awards, hosted by Arsenio Hall. Reginald’s professional career in secular music began to take flight with trips to Accra, the capital of Ghana in West Africa. While there, he was able to produce music for some of the most innovative artists in the region. Upon his return back to the United States, he wrote his first single with a Midwest theme, “Always Dream”. Through these achievements, God showed Reggie that his gift could be used for His purpose. He became a cast member of the Vern-Mike Production of “Rejoice”, the story of gospel music. With a blend of spiritual values and commercial appeal, Reggie reunited with his brothers to establish the inspirational legacy of the Walker Brothers. Giving all praise and honor to God, the head of his life, for without Him this vision would never be possible, the legend of Reginald Walker and the Walker Brothers began. Reggie knew and continues to recognize that God has him right where He wants him. With God-given strength and awareness, Reggie remains steadfast in the Word and love of God in spite of the losses he has suffered at the hands of the enemy. However, Reggie is ready to take all of his blessings back. With God, Reginald Walker and his brothers are here to “Restore." Brian “B” Walker began singing at the age of 8 years old. He emulated Michael Jackson. As time went on, his passion grew stronger to seek fame. While “B” attended grade school, he began performing in various talent shows. These performances over time were extremely helpful in the development of his talent and stage presence. At the age of 17, “B” started his own group and began performing in nightclubs. His performances afforded him the glorious opportunity to tour throughout Africa. However, God had other plans for him. Brian learned as time passed, the career he wanted was not the choice God had for him. In 2004, Brian established his singing trio, Brothers-n-Christ. God enabled him to eliminate the distractions and obstacles associated with starting groups and blessed him with the ability to record and perform with God’s highest praise. Later, Brian knew that it was not about himself or his brothers. It was and continues to be the act of celebration and giving God the highest praise and that has brought purpose to Brian’s life. God has anointed him with the ability to write and arrange song. James “Jip” Walker. Jr. was discovered at the age of 3 by his family, members in The Bryant Sisters, a gospel group. He would listen to them rehearse and sing in the background. One day his aunt overheard him singing, so after their rehearsals on Saturdays and before Church on Sundays, he would sing with them. After several rehearsals, his aunt had him sing “Oh Happy Day” by the Edwin Hawkins Singers in front of the church congregation. From that day he began to praise the Lord through his anointed gift of singing. By the time he was 6 years old, he was singing in several churches throughout southern Ohio. He would sing many gospel hymns, including the Lord’s Prayer. During the time James was growing up, the birth of R&B and its soulful sounds began to peak his interests. Even though he was still singing in church, he began to sing R&B music. Torn between two worlds and a new admiration for R&B music, James joined a musical group and began singing in nightclubs. As in the scripture, Psalm 119:176 (NIV), I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I have not forgotten your commands. James decided to return to singing gospel music. He praises the Lord and lift spirits in His Holy Name to reach out to souls through songs. He has never been happier in his life.
